The 3 Knee Exercises to Try After a Total Knee Replacement

Home News & Videos The 3 Knee Exercises to Try After a Total Knee Replacement

Recovering from a total knee replacement, also known as a total knee arthroplasty (TKA), takes time, but the right exercises can help you gradually restore knee mobility, leg strength, and balance.

In this video, we demonstrate three foundational exercises that are commonly incorporated into early knee replacement rehabilitation:

  • Seated Knee Flexion – 3 sets x 10 repetitions
  • Quad Sets – 3 sets x 10 repetitions
  • Hip Abductions – 3 sets x 10 repetitions

While these movements are simple, they can help prepare you for the activities that matter most, including walking around, standing, climbing stairs, and getting back to the routine you love.

Remember, knee replacement recovery looks different for everyone. For more information about how you can bounce back from a total knee replacement, book an appointment at JAG Physical therapy today.
