Tight hip flexors aren’t just an athlete’s problem, they're a problem that can creep up on anyone who sits too long, drives for hours, or skips stretching after performing daily exercises.

In this video, one of our athletic trainers from JAG PT demonstrates the 3 BEST dynamic hip exercises you can try if you're looking to loosen tight hip flexors, strengthen surrounding muscles, and improve your overall hip mobility. It's important to keep in mind that if your hip flexors are in intense pain, these exercises should be performed slowly and carefully.

At JAG PT, we'd recommend you gradually implement these hip exercises into your morning, afternoon or evening routine and once comfortable, build up the amount of sets and reptations from there. A good starting point we tend to reference is as follows:

  • Kickstand Rockers: 3 sets with 10 repetitions on each side
  • Figure Wipers: 3 sets with 10 repetitions on each side
  • Tall Knee Rotations: 3 sets with 10 repetitions on each side
